Shortly after painting the first heart with the hole in it, I was working on a job for a pawn shop, and i was asked to paint a bunch of the items commonly sold inside onto the wall. One of them was a camera... and in the lens I painted this a heart with another heart on top. I had loved the aesthetic of the one I had just painted... but again, I had no idea of the life it would live. It looked cool in the lens of the camera... but more importantly, it began a trend. A pattern. I began capturing photos of the 'heart with a hole in it' as I painted them... This week's OHE is called CAPTURED... and marks the birth of the trend of these hearts, and literally, it captured my own heart, falling in love with a design that would change everything. Here i'm depicting a camera like the one I painted back then, but modernized to fit the current state of my body of work... I hope you enjoy!
