The most gentle and most beautiful cat of them all - Cheetahs. They are among the most friendliest of all cats in the Savannah - they almost know how to interact with humans. But sadly that's a curse that's driving them to extinction. As of today, less than 7000 cheetahs remain in the wild. Here's some sad trivia - India used to have a huge population of cheetahs - over 10000 roamed the wild back in 16th century. But then began the slaughter house for royal pleasure. Excessive killing by most of the Royals houses of India followed by the pleasure hunts by Colonial British Forces drove the cheetahs to complete extinction in India. The species faced a similar fate throughout Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq, with only about 50 Asiatic cheetahs surviving in Iran as of today. By Subodh Shetty
