Anecdote: There was tension in the air as I crouched down in front of the bomb, trying to decide which wire to cut. Davidson was sweating so bad, he could’ve filled a pool, but I was keeping my cool. I know one wrong move would end with both of us blown to pieces, so I centered myself and concentrated on figuring out which to cut: yellow or white. My scissors hovered over the yellow, but I thought back on my training and remembered what my instructor had said: “Cut the yellow and you’re a dead fellow; cut the white and you’ll live to see your wife.” As the timer was about to hit zero, I quickly moved my scissors to the white wire and snipped it.
