I experimented heavily with "flame fractals" in the mid 2000s, using a program called "Apophysis" to create 2D images that were amazingly detailed and somewhat 3D like. Others in the series include include "Gnosis", "Sublimation", "Genesis" and a few others. Fractals look almost natural because reality is also fractal in nature. I was still fairly new to creating these fractals in 2006 and was mostly using them to create special 2D effects for my 3D renders (see "Phraxis Moon" and "Corona"). This one started out to be a quasar but I got a little too crazy with it and it veered more into the abstract. It was still a favorite of my Members at the time.
