Description
XB Falcons debuting in 1973 were essentially facelifted XAs. Front-end sheet metal (with particular attention to the hood) was revised to create an even more pronounced nose. Instead of a single slatted grille opening the XB also received a split grille which is a bit more subdued in GT form especially fitted with driving lights. The XB GT was fitted with 4 wheel disc brakes as standard equipment. A new four-speed manual transmission was available. Even more popular than its predecessor the XB Falcon line made its way into many Australian driveways from 1974 to 1976. The top of the XB Falcon line was the GT which took Brian Rossi's design to its most sinister conclusion. The GT was available in both Hard Top and sedan form. This car came in the colour Blaze Blue with the extras Laminated Tintband Windscreen, Tinted side and Rear Glass and Heated Backlight, its trim was Black vinyl. Specifications have been verified by ICAARS - Australia’s leading Classic Car verification company - as being the correct representation of the physical XB GT sold in 1973.
