Description
Bomb Story: This iteration of Adam Bomb is a part of the larger ""Styles"" T-shirt design from The Hundreds Summer 2007. The graphic is an appropriation of the hairstyle option posters that hang in neighborhood barbershops. Adam's hairdos, however, reference the various subcultures and eras that speak to The Hundreds' inspirations.| Background Story: Horizontal stripes, especially of the yarn-dyed variety, are a staple of The Hundreds' collection. Earlier on, they were derived from the surf knits and beachgoer patterns that graced the backs of Californians in the 1980s. Examples include Hang Ten, OP, Quiksilver, and Gotcha. In the following decade, independent skate brands and rave companies capitalized on stripes across boxy, baggy tops. Whether they're fatter stripes across neighborhood-sanctioned Charlie Browns or pinstripes across suiting or a baseball jersey, The Hundreds' stripes speak to a spectrum of subcultures.
