The "Emates" series, created by Julija Goyd, features images that portray warmly-glowing, hyper-sexualised women's bodies. Originally sourced from online pornography websites, these pornographic images are altered by radically blurring the backgrounds (and other portions of the composition), whilst tightly focusing on the sexed, and sexualised, body parts (e.g., lips, breasts, and nipples). These modifications highlight, distort, and problematise the stereotypical pornographic imagery found in the original photographs.
